Planning your online meeting or webinar

We’ve all seen the meme on “measure twice, cut once” and the sign cuts off the word! Hopefully you see the humor in the image, but it brings home a point. Poor planning and/or not planning well bites all of us. How many times have you done something that you know how to do and missed a step because your mind went unconscious for a moment?

Like the quote on preparation on our Fantastic Scripts Matter page, we can’t stress enough to invest the time into prep. On our home page, we discuss our “The Webinar Guy” Planning form. It’s free to you. It’s how we start each engagement. We cover more than 50 things that will need done now or soon!

Experience has taught us…

Grant Holmes, “The Webinar Guy” had his first “on stage” performance at age five. That mighta been a few months ago. But who’s counting? (He isn’t!) But we digress. His on-stage speaking and performance experience, his skill in emceeing corporate events, and ability to teach subjects as diverse as technology and leading turn-around management, brought him to today, doing multi-national webinars for other organizations. In 2021, we started tracking the number and various types of events we’ve managed. Now only sixteen months later and that number is over 225 webinars produced, meetings moderated, events planned, videos hosted and more. That is experience.

Such a consummate professional. Grant is amazingly organised and accurate. I will certainly hire him again.

From Grant; “Recently, I was on a discovery call with a new client. About five minutes in, the client said, ‘Man, you ask a lot of questions!’. I said, ‘yes, we do!’

I’ve done this enough to know the hard work is done up front. The more you plan and prepare ahead, fewer things pop up that are unaccounted for. There’s a popular phrase about ‘known unknowns’ vs. ‘unknown unknowns’. We like to take care of the known unknowns- some of the details we’ve defined in our exhaustive “The Webinar Guy” Planning questionnaire.
